Julie Malette Art

I'm Julie Malette, a Kingston, Ontario visual artist.  

I have two bodies of work; the first explores the intersection of abstraction and landscape within the context of Canadian contemporary painting. Through the use of oil and acrylic mediums, I aim to capture the essence of place—its rhythm, energy, and atmosphere—rather than its literal form.  Each composition emerges through a balance of structure and spontaneity.  Through abstraction, I aim to evoke a sense of continuity between people and the land, expressing both their strength and interdependence.

My second body of work is purely expressive; abstract, mixed-media. Colour and gesture serve as primary vehicles of expression, allowing intuition and emotion to guide the creative process.
